Some cruises feel like a movie.
This was one of them.

We welcomed a young Italian couple aboard Roxani for what was planned as a simple two-day sailing cruise in Chalkidiki. Freshly in love, smiling from the first minute, they boarded in Nikiti with nothing but light bags and the desire to enjoy the sea together.

We set sail toward Kelifos Island, the iconic turtle-shaped rock rising from turquoise water, and continued south to Porto Koufo, the deep natural harbor often called the safest bay in the Aegean.

As the sun went down, we dropped anchor and headed ashore to our favorite taverna Delfini.
Italian wine, Greek music, warm summer air, and endless conversation — pure dolce vita.

By the next morning, it was clear: two days wouldn’t be enough.

After breakfast on deck, they smiled and asked,
“Can we stay longer?”

Of course we could.

So we slowed everything down.

The second day was spent swimming, sunbathing, paddleboarding, and simply enjoying life at anchor in Porto Koufo. No schedule. No rush. Just sea, sun, and harmony — the kind of atmosphere that makes sailing so special.

In the afternoon, we raised anchor and sailed around the southern tip of Sithonia toward Goa Beach, near Sarti on the east coast — a small, dramatic cove surrounded by rock faces with perfect view on Mount Athos on the opposite side of the gulf.

There, a famous beach club was already alive with electronic music.

We dropped anchor, secured the stern line ashore, and took the dinghy to the beach.

And just like that, the quiet romantic getaway turned into a full-on Mediterranean party.

Dancing barefoot in the sand.
Music pumping until sunrise.
Salt in the air.
Everyone on the same frequency.

When the sun rose over Athos, we returned to the yacht, laughing and tired, and shared breakfast on deck while the sea turned golden again.

Before noon, we set sail for a relaxed cruise back to Nikiti, stopping in hidden coves for refreshing swims along the way.

What began as two days became four.
What started as a cruise became a small love story at sea.

Exactly what a private yacht charter in Chalkidiki is made for.
