We had the beautiful task of creating the perfect setting for a surprise marriage proposal in Chalkidiki — carefully disguised as a romantic sunset cruise. The future bride knew she was going sailing. She had no idea that a very special question was waiting for her at sea.
We welcomed the couple aboard Roxani and began a relaxed cruise along the stunning coastline of Sithonia. As we sailed through the afternoon, our hostess prepared a carefully selected catering on board: tasty tortilla bites, olives, grapes, Prosecco, and wine — everything needed for a romantic afternoon at sea.
We eventually dropped anchor in a beautiful secluded cove, where the couple enjoyed a swim in the crystal-clear Aegean waters. From there, we continued to another carefully chosen anchorage with a spectacular view of the setting sun.
As the golden hour approached, we prepared for the moment.
Shortly before sunset, we raised anchor and slowly motored into the fading light. The music changed gradually, moving from relaxed sailing tunes to romantic love songs. The atmosphere became quieter as the sun approached the horizon.
Then, on the foredeck of Roxani, with the two of them watching the sunset together, he finally asked the question.
She said yes.
And she took the ring.
For us as a crew, it was a deeply moving moment to witness. We had spent the afternoon carefully creating the setting, but nothing could have prepared us for the emotion of seeing that moment unfold right in front of us.
As darkness settled over the Aegean, we turned back toward Porto Carras. And when we approached the harbor, we couldn’t resist one final celebration: we sounded Roxani’s horn to let everyone know the most important news of the evening.
She said yes!
