This unforgettable sailing cruise began in Porto Carras, where we welcomed two young Czech couples on board for an adventurous journey through the Northern Aegean. With light spirits and perfect summer weather, we set sail toward Porto Koufo, one of Greece’s safest natural anchorages. Surrounded by dramatic cliffs and absolute silence, we spent our first night at anchor under a star-filled sky.

At dawn, we raised anchor and headed south, passing Kalamitsi for a refreshing swim stop in crystal-clear waters. From there, the route became truly spectacular as we sailed along the coastline of Mount Athos. The view of the Holy Mountain from the sea is nothing short of breathtaking: centuries-old monasteries perched high on steep forested slopes, others built directly on the rocks at sea level—some completely isolated, without any road access. Sailing past this sacred peninsula offered a rare and powerful perspective, combining natural beauty, history, and deep spirituality.

After rounding Mount Athos, we set course for Limenaria, on the southwest coast of Thasos. We docked in the late afternoon and enjoyed a magical evening ashore, watching the sun set behind Mount Athos across the sea. The following day was dedicated to exploring the village, relaxing by the waterfront, and soaking in the laid-back island atmosphere.

On the morning of the third day, we sailed north to Limenas, Thasos’ capital. After docking, our guests spent the afternoon and evening discovering the town’s rich historical heritage, charming streets, and vibrant harbor life.

The adventure continued the next morning with an open-sea passage to Limnos, arriving at the picturesque harbor of Myrina. With its medieval castle overlooking the port and a lively town center, Limnos offered a perfect mix of culture and island life. We stayed docked for the night before beginning our return journey.

On day six, we sailed back toward Chalkidiki, stopping in Sykia on the east coast of Sithonia for a final night near the sea. Early the next morning, we completed the last leg of the journey, returning to Porto Carras—closing a diverse and memorable sailing holiday filled with islands, history, swimming stops, and unforgettable Aegean landscapes.
